Over the holiday weekend we got to get out and do a little letterboxing. We enjoyed getting down to Hillsboro and finding the Town Pound, Grimes Field and the Franklin Pierce Homestead. We also got the Basin Letterbox and the Pemi-Trail Letterbox over the weekend. All were in good shape and fun to find. Hopefully we'll run into some other letterboxers one of these days. We have had contact with a couple locals so maybe we'll be able to do an exchange soon.
I have a question on counting finds and Hitchhikers. I think the HH count as finds, is that correct? Also, I remember reading about someone talking about the lack of HH on the trails. It was suggested that people are saving them and bringing them to gatherings. Does that mean if you go to a gathering where there are 10, 20 or even more HH that you can include them in your find count? This doesn't sound right to me but maybe I am not understanding what is going on. I'd love it if someone would straighten me out on this.

Awesome answer Brian! I just couldn't have said any better myself. I'm not a numbers type of person, I'm more a fan
of the artwork. I collect stamps. I don't really see the need to bring a ton of Hitchhikers to an event, I also
prefer to find them in a field, HOWEVER, should a hitchhiker or two or three or whatever show up at an event, being a
fan of the art that I am!
P.S. I use rock salt in the shotgun to scare the kids outta my fields! (grin!!)

Thanks, Brian. Your answer helps a lot. By the way, your Zen
mystery has my husband doing some serious research. We've never
studied anything about Zen so this ought to be interesting.
I appreciate your help. Good luck getting rid of the kids.
Thunderstorms usually clear ours for a while but then they infest
the house. Hope we run into you on the trails some day.

ps- My husband (Son of a Sailor) said to scold you for not doing any
of the Covered Bridge Series while in NH.

Do you realize that is the stamp image as well as the clue?
We figured that was the case. He even has a theory but
hasn't found the right links to find out for sure.
We will be up again and will check out those covered bridges for
sure.
Hopefully my husband (SOS) will have a few more planted by the
time you come back.

The Zen Mystery has an incredible reward: the stamp. So how will it work if someone solves the mystery and is across the country? Maybe a private reply is in order for this question. I don't know if the answer will spoil the mystery...
